Four people were arrested at the Sunset Park Motel on Stoll Court after police responded to a reported drug overdose at that address and found a 4-year-old child in the room, they said Monday.

At 1:45 a.m. Saturday police arrested Crystal M. Escalara, 24, and Kristen M. Drake, 22, both of Kingston, Angel L. Lara, 25, of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Orlando Marmolejos, 26, of Sanford, Fla. and charged each of them with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

The arrests followed a report at 11:37 p.m. Friday of an overdose at the Sunset Park Motel, 1001 Stoll Court.

When officers arrived, they found “several patients” requiring treatment for “overdose symptoms,” according to a press release. Police said the patients were treated by members of Ulster Hose and Mobile Life Support Services.

Police did not indicate which of the four required medical assistance or what drug or drugs were involved.

The 4-year-old was found “in good health” and was turned over to Ulster County Child Protective Services, police said.

Escalara, Drake, Lara and Marmolejos were arraigned in Ulster Town Court before Judge Susan Kesick and were sent to the Ulster County Jail.

According to a jail official, Escalara was released on Saturday after posting $1,000 bail; Drake was released on Saturday after posting $500 bail; Marmolejos was released on Saturday after posting $500 bail and Lara remains at the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.
