Marilyn F. Skelly, 85, of Red Hook, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at the Renaissanc­e Rehabilita­tion and Nursing Care Center in Staatsburg, N.Y.

Born on June 3, 1932, in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth (Broaderick) Herbert. Marilyn married Donald J. Skelly on May 21, 1955, at St. Patrick’s Church in Troy, N.Y., and Donald predecease­d her on May 24, 1992.

Marilyn was a communican­t of St. Christophe­r’s Church in Red Hook, and was a member of the St. Christophe­r’s Seniors, the Rosary Altar Society and the Legion of Mary.

She was a former parishione­r of St. Sylvia’s Parish in Tivoli, where she taught religious education for over 15 years and served as a Eucharisti­c Minister.

Marilyn also volunteere­d as a member of Northern Dutchess Caregivers and was a member of the Southern Tier Seniors.

She is survived by her sons, Donald (Lynn) C. Skelly of Jacksonvil­le, Fla., Joseph E. Skelly of Tuscan, Ariz., Robert (Stacey) F. Skelly of Houston, Texas, Thomas (Bonnie) P. Skelly of Bothell, Wash., Charles (Susan) F. Skelly of Underhill, Vt., and John D. Skelly of New York, N.Y.; her daughters, Maryann Skelly of Red Hook, N.Y. and Carol (Ronnie) Miller of Clermont, N.Y.; a sister, Helene Sullivan of Tuscan, Ariz.; her daughter-in-law, Rosalie Skelly of Tuscan, Ariz.; along with 10 grandchild­ren, two greatgrand­children, extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was predecease­d by her son, William Skelly.

Friends may call at the Burnett & White Funeral Homes, on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017 at St. Christophe­r’s Church, Red Hook, N.Y. Burial will be at St. Sylvia’s Cemetery, Tivoli.

Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O. Box 356, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 12590.
