Florence Tantillo Brevetti, 93, of Kingston, formerly of Highland, N.Y., passed away Aug. 3, 2017 at home in Kingston.

She was born Sept. 27, 1923, in Highland, N.Y., the daughter of the late Francesco and Josephine Canale Tantillo

Affectiona­tely known by all as “Fluffy,” Florence was predecease­d by her husband, Daniel D. Brevetti (10/08/1993) and siblings Anna Crimi, Rose Toscano, Leonard Tantillo, Dorothy Diorio, Philip Tantillo, and Mary Brevetti Giudice.

She is survived by daughter, Jo Ann B. Guerin and her husband John of Kingston, N.Y.; son, Daniel P. Brevetti and his wife Sabine of Ashburn, Va.; grandchild­ren, Emily Guerin Irwin and her husband Michael of Saint Paul, Minn., Matthew Guerin of Cottonwood Heights, Utah, Joseph Guerin and his wife Tracy of West Hurley, N.Y., Thomas Guerin of Lakewood, Colo., Teresa Guerin of Saint Paul, Minn., Kate Brevetti of Brick Township, N.J., Gregory Brevetti of Highland, N.Y., Caroline Brevetti of Manhattan, N.Y.; and great-grandchild­ren, Olivia Irwin, Charlotte Irwin, Jacob Irwin, Natalie Guerin, and Liliana Guerin, and several nieces and nephews.

Florence was born in Highland where she was a parishione­r of St. Augustine’s Church. She was active in the St. Augustine’s School Mother’s Society, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League. She lived in Highland until June 1985, when she and her husband moved to Cooper City, Fla., where she resided for 25 years. She was a member of the Cooper Colony Country Club, where she was an avid golfer. She participat­ed in the Cooper City Community Center and was a parishione­r of St. Bernadette’s Church. She moved to Kingston in November 2010 to be near family.

Florence’s passion was her family. She was known for many wonderful recipes, which like many of her generation, she had memorized. Fortunatel­y, the recipes have been preserved after her granddaugh­ter, Emily, wrote them down as Fluffy prepared them. She will be missed by all and her love for life and people was gallant to the end.

A calling hour will be held Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home Inc., 38 Main St., Highland, N.Y. 12528. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place right after the calling hour on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, Highland, with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.
