Walter Joseph Warren of Kingston, N.Y., passed away unexpected­ly on Aug. 11, 2017. He was 32 years old.

Walter was born on Oct. 11, 1984, in Harris, N.Y., to Laureen (Goodroe) Depuy and the late John Ellsworth Warren Jr.

Walter grew up in Kerhonkson and was raised by his Aunt Shirley DeGrote and his late Uncle Edwin DeGrote. He attended Rondout Valley Schools and graduated with the class of 2003. He furthered his education at SUNY Ulster and was previously enrolled at Bard College. Walter also had a short enlistment with the United States Army.

Walter was a kid at heart; he loved playing video games and was an avid Star Wars fan. Children adored Walter and the feelings were mutual. Walter recently began volunteeri­ng at the Ulster County SPCA. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his Aunt Shirley, Walter is survived by his brother, John Warren of Kingston; his sister, Constance Kinch of Ellenville; nephew, Jonathan Kinch; niece, Paige Kinch; and expected niece, Novella Warren. Walter was also a brother to Sara, Ed, Chris, Tim, Mike, Ann, and best friend to Christian. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Furman Cemetery, Yeagervill­e.
