AARP driver safety class takes place Sept. 9
An AARP driver safety class will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Russell Brott Senior Center, 1 Town Hall Drive.
Sign in will take place at 8:30 a.m., with the class starting at 9 a.m.
The course has a six-hour format, although it could run longer. Successful completion of the course qualifies attendees for discounts on their auto insurance and points reduction on their driver’s licenses. The cost is $25, $20 for AARP members. The class is open to everyone. There are no membership or age requirements.
Seating is very limited, and pre-registration is required. To register, call (845) 339-7885 between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Fountains at Millbrook hosts musical event
National Senior Citizen Day will be observed Monday, Aug. 21, at 2 p.m. at The Fountains at Millbrook, 79 Flint Road, with “A Journey Through Music,” featuring Julia and Jeff Cohen.
A student at the New England Conservatory of Music, Julia Cohen will be accompanied by her father, Jeff. They will perform performing classical, musical theater and sing-along repertoire. Julia has been featured on NPR and has performed at Carnegie Hall.

Discounted Dutchess County Fair tickets available
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y.
» Discounted $10 senior admission tickets to the Dutchess County Fair will be available during the event at any entry gate.
The fair will take place from Wednesday, Aug. 22, through Sunday, Aug. 27, at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds, 6550 Spring Brook Ave., Rhinebeck.
