Hickory BBQ earns women's Lower B win

Hickory BBQ put up a fourspot to walk off with a 14-13 win over DeCicco in a recent back-and-forth Kingston Recreation League women’s softball Lower B Division game.

Hickory BBQ put up a four-spot to walk off with a 14-13 win over DeCicco in a recent back-and-forth Kingston Recreation League women’s softball Lower B Division game.

DeCicco went up 3-0 in the top of the first only to surrender six runs in the bottom of the second to go down six three.

They then preceeded to put three on the board to tie the score at 6-6. Hickory BBQ pulled ahead by one in the bottom frame, before Deccico answered with two to go up 8-7 in the top of the fourth, only to have Hickory tie the score again the bottom frame and tack on two in the fifth to go up 10-8.

Decicco than powered ahead with five to go up 13-10, only to surrender four runs in the final frame for the loss.

Jasmine Chaffin led Hickory belting a grand slam, while Emily Crocetti homered and had two RBI, and Marissa Tiano smacked four singles and knocked in two runs in the win.

Rebecca Brocco hit a home run and three singles and had four RBI and Sarah Plavek tripled, hit two singles and had three RBI in the loss.

In other Lower B action Gabie Waterman had 10 RBI and spread two homers and two singles as Kenzie’s Kakery rolled to victory over Rip Van Winkle/Corner Bar 25-5.

Gabbie Becker tripled, hit three singles and had four RBI and Kim Boice added three singles and two RBI to lead Kenzie’s in the victory.

Jamie Bodie, meanwhile, knocked 12 runs in, hitting two homers, two doubles and a single as the Diamond Vets soared past Wine Hutch 27-10 in an Upper B contest.

Jen Richmond hit a home run and a double and had two RBI to lead the Diamond Vets who scored 14 in the first and added five more in the second and never looked back in the win.

Hoover Bautista hit a home run and had two RBI to pace Wine Hutch in the loss.

Down 9-7, D.YS. Sports Performance rallied for three to walk off with a 10-9 victory over Tony’s Pizza in A Division action.

With Tony’s Pizza up 6-2 in the fifth, DYS Sports Performance rallied for five in the bottom frame to go up 7-6, only to surrender there in the top of the seventh to fall behind 9-7.

Kelly Blume hit two homers and had five RBI and Stacey Donald doubled and hit two singles to lead DYS.

Michelle Gallo doubled and hit three singles to carry Tony’s in the loss.
