Wiltwyck Pro-Am won by Sanger in playoff

Stoltz takes second, with Chris DeForest coming in third

Chris Sanger defeated John Stoltz in a onehole playoff to win the 40th Annual Wiltwyck/YMCA Pro-Am tournament on Monday at Wiltwyck Golf Club.

The duo tied for first place with 2-under-par 70s to force the playoff. Sanger posted a 36-34— 70 and Stoltz 33-37—70.

Stoltz had five of his six birdies on the front nine, moving in front with a 33. Sanger caught him with birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.

Chris DeForest was third overall with a 71. He won the individual pro title last year in a two-hole playoff with his brother, Andrew.

Chris Ferraro, who had five birdies, tied with Andrew DeForest and Jeff Schaller Jr. for fourth.

The foursome of Brian Woltman, Bill Reynolds Jr., Ryan LaConture and pro Bill Reynolds easily won the team net championsh­ip with a 16-under 128. Stoltz’s team with Paul Casciaro, James Demos and Phil Kirschner were runner-ups, five strokes back at 133. Sanger’s team with Craig Rakow, Carlos Alvarez and Aaron Pethic tied for third place at 134 with Ferraro’s team, which included Riley Gogg, Zack Boyce and Chris Pena.
