Barbara Ann Coppey, 83, of Saugerites

SAUGERTIES » Barbara Ann Coppey died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home in Lake Katrine. She was 83 years old.

Born Jan. 12, 1934, in Kingston, N.Y., she was the daughter of Geroge and Anna Whitaker Terwilliger. On March 9, 1957, she married Richard F. Coppey, her husband of more than 59 years, who pre-deceased her on May 14, 2016. She was employed as a cashier at Grand Union and Shoprite and worked at the Children’s Annex in Kingston for more than 10 years.

A parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Centerville, she was also a former member of the Saugerties Bowler’s Association. Together with her husband, she was a member of the Lefooters Square Dance Club for many years.

Survivors include three children, Richard Coppey, Jr., and his wife Theresa of Saugerties; Ann Sauer and her husband Daniel of Clifton Park, and Steven Coppey and his fiancé Danielle McCutcheon; her sister, Ruth; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two infant children, Mark Joseph and Lisa Ann; and three sisters, Marion Clearwater, Shirley Terwilliger, and Gladys Amell.

A Funeral procession will form 9:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at Buono Funeral Service, Inc., Saugerties, N.Y., and then proceed to St. John the Evangelist Parish Center in Centerville, where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediately in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. Friends may call Thursday from 3 until 5 p.m. and 7 until 9 p.m. at Buono Funeral Service, Inc.
