Janice Bonestell, 90, of Ruby

Janice Bonestell of Old Kings Highway died peacefully Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at home. Born May 26, 1927, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Essie (Hiliker) Schellpepe­r.

Janice was a homemaker who enjoyed bird watching, gardening and watching the cooking channel. When she was able, she loved to go for a ride in her 1970 Buick Electra, “Betsy.” Janice was a 50-year member of the Plattekill Reformed Church in Mount Marion and was a past member of the choir.

Surviving are her three children, Sharon Denny and her husband Bruce, Gary Bonestell and his wife Shirley, Holly Long and her husband Thomas; and seven grandchild­ren, Eric, Jason and Daniel Noll, Alicia and Kristin Denny, Charles and Brian Bonestell. Eight great-grandchild­ren also survive.

Two brothers, Frank and Robert Schellpepe­r, died previously.

Cremation and memorial arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh. com).

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Plattekill Reformed Church in Mount Marion.
