Fall Festival takes place Sept. 23 in Accord

WHAT: Fall Festival WHEN: Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. WHERE: Veterans Park, 50 Scenic Drive, Accord DETAILS: The annual Fall Festival, presented by the Rondout Valley Lions Club and the Town of Rochester Recreation Department, will take place rain or shine. The day will feature family fun games, hay rides, pony rides, a treasure table of raffles, food, crafts, informatio­nal and other vendors. Guiding Eyes for the Blind will give a presentati­on at 11 a.m. There will also be live music by country music singer-songwriter Ben Rounds of Olivebridg­e from noon to 1 p.m. The Spillway Band will play an eclectic mix of rock, country, oldies and originals will follow from 1 to 4 p.m. Pets and alcoholic beverages are not permitted. Admission is free.

Chili Cook-Off, PieBaking Contest in Rhinecliff on Sept. 16

WHAT: Chili Cook-Off and PieBaking Contest WHEN: Sept. 16 from 3 to 7 p.m. (Rain date Sept. 17) WHERE: Firemen’s Field, Valley Way and Loftus Road, Rhinecliff DETAILS: The Rhinecliff Fire Company will present its annual Chili Cook-Off and PieBaking Contest. There will be games and prizes for the children. Bring a hot pot of chili for a chance to win $100, a dish to pass or just your appetite to share among friends and family.
