Ellenville wins inaugural Blue Devils Invitation­al

Ellenville High won the team championsh­ip of its own tournament, taking the inaugural Blue Devils Invitation­al at Shawangunk. Ellenville beat New Paltz, Rondout Valley and Highland.

Ellenville shot a 184 to finish ahead of New Paltz (201), Rondout Valley (207) and Highland (237).

The Devils’ Ben Bonitz, Patrick Murphy of New Paltz and Rondout’s Sean Ferry shared medalist honors with each shooting 43s.

Jessie Rodriguez (46), Lucas Benton (47) and Matt Little (48) rounded out Ellenville’s scoring unit.

Nick Puleo shot a 50 and Kevin Metzger and Josh Clinton each had 54s for New Paltz.

Zach Murphy (49), Dylan McDermott (54) and Luciano Catalfomo (61) helped lead Rondout. Tom Cipollini and Marc Panzella each had 53s for Highland. Brent Kropp (61) and Ethan Thompson (64) rounded out the Huskies’ foursome. Roosevelt 197, Wallkill 261

At Turtle Creek, Zack Plambeck was low man with a 43 to lead Roosevelt over Wallkill in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League match.

Jake Rand had a 47, David Remsburger carded a 49 and James McKenna posted a 58 for the Presidents.

Brad Betcher paced Wallkill with a 46. The rest of the Panthers were Earl Piperate (62), John Winters (73) and Zack Baptista (80).
