The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Catskill
• DWI: Robert W. Ellett, 58, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 6:56 p.m. Thursday at Cauterskill and Underhill roads in the town and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Ellett was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
• DWI: Cody L. Doran, 27, of Mantua, N.J., was arrested by state police at Ulster at 4:51 p.m. Thursday on the New York State Thruway and was charged with drunken driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent, both misdemeanors. Doran was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
Durham
• Drugs: David M. Hester, 20, of Nassau, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 10:45 p.m. Thursday on state Route 23 and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Hester was sent to the Greene County Jail pending a court appearance. Further information was unavailable.
Lloyd
• Drugs: Richard Bonds, 27, and Kendrick Robinson, 24, both of Newburgh, were arrested by state police at Highland at 1:30 a.m. Friday at state Route 299 and U.S. Route 9W. Bonds was charged with felony possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and with misdemeanor possession of more than 25 grams of marijuana. Robinson was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Bonds was released from the Ulster County Jail on Friday after posting $5,000 bond. Robinson remained at the jail Friday in lieu of $5,000 bail, pending a court appearance.
Saugerties
• Obstruction of breathing: Daniel E. Cox, 55, of state Route 212, Saugerties, was arrested by Saugerties police Thursday and was charged with obstruction of breathing and assault, both misdemeanors. Cox is accused of knocking a victim to the ground, placing his knee into the victim’s chest and choking the victim with his hands. He was released after posting $500 bail and an order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf.
Town of Ulster
• Shoplifting: Oscar S. Moss, 57, of Port Ewen, was arrested by town of Ulster police at 5:09 p.m. Thursday and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Moss is accused of shoplifting $84.16 worth of merchandise from the Shoprite store at 800 Miron Lane. Moss was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
