Robert Vincent Hoffay, Sr., 78, of Kingston

Robert Vincent Hoffay, Sr., 78, of Glen Street, Kingston, N.Y., died at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus, on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017.

Born in Kingston, Jan. 20, 1939, a son of the late Wilbur and Mildred (Dulin) Hoffay.

Mr. Hoffay was employed by IBM East Fishkill, N.Y., until his retirement after 35 years with the company. A lifelong parishioner of Saint Joseph’s Church. His greatest joy was the time he shared with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Jacqueline (Grube) Hoffay. His children: Lisa VanVoorhis and her husband Bill, Laurie Paige and her husband Bill, Robert V. Hoffay, Jr., and his wife Maria, Lyn Hammerle, and her husband Rob, Richard Hoffay, and his wife Linda, and Kate Franco. Brothers and sisters: Charles Hoffay and his wife Terry, Shirley Carle, Thomas Hoffay, Linda Humphrey and her husband Fran, William Hoffay and his wife Diane, Donald Hoffay and his wife Donna. Grandchildren: Patrick Mitchell, Alicyn VanVoorhis, Heather Paige, Katelyn Paige, Nicholas Paige, Melanie Hoffay, Megan Hoffay, Robert Hammerle, Alexis Hammerle, Madison Hammerle, Riley Hoffay, Tanner Hoffay, Payton Hoffay, and Joshua Franco. One great-grandson, Hunter Litts, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

A grandson, Matthew Hoffay; and brother-in-law, Earl Carle, predeceased him.

Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston, N.Y. www. jvleahyfh.com Friends will be received at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A procession will form at the funeral home Thursday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Church at 10 a.m. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery.
