High-end craft, design fair coming to Hutton site

A stylish, highend craft and design fair is to be held Oct. 6-8 at the Hutton Brickyards.

“Field + Supply: A Modern Maker’s Craft Fair” is expected draw at least 60 craft vendors who are “a carefully curated selection of makers highlighti­ng goods, old and new, from a variety of studios and workshops representi­ng a wide range of crafts,” according to the fair’s website.

“Field + Supply” is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Oct. 6 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 at the brickyards property, at the end of North Street and along the Hudson River shore.

A press release describes the event as “a carefully curated selection of artisans [that] will highlight hand-crafted goods, old and new, from a variety of studios and workshops.”

The fair is the brainchild of Manhattan-based interior designer Brad Ford.

General admission will be $10.

A VIP package, including access to dinners and other celebratio­ns, is available for $225.

“This year’s fair will kick

off with a preview cocktail party, private dinners and live music, all capped by a celebratio­n Saturday evening to toast this year’s makers,” the press release says. Tickets also are on sale for hands-on workshops to be presented throughout the weekend by L’Ecole des

Beaux Arts at which attendees will learn from experts how to create hand-made goods.Tickets can be purchased online at www.fieldandsu­pply.com, and a list of exhibitors is posted on the website, as well. This will be fourth time the “Field + Supply” fair has been held in the

Hudson Valley but the first time it will be at the Hutton Brickyards, home of the monthly Smorgasbur­g Upstate market and the site of two concerts in June by folk-rock music legend Bob Dylan.

The “Field + Supply” organizers are partnering with

Smorgasbur­g Upstate, “to bring a carefully selected group of food vendors and craft beer, wine and spirits” to the Oct. 6-8 event, the press release says.

Karl Slovin, president of Hutton Brickyards owner MWest Holdings Inc., said in an emailed statement

Wednesday that the “Field + Supply” event is a “highdesign clothing, furniture, arts and crafts fair, and we are thrilled to host [it] at the Hutton Brickyards this year. ... This is a terrific opportunit­y to bring Hudson Valley residents a truly top-notch cultural event.”
