On the move
In recognition of outstanding work during the 2016–2017 school year, four members of the faculty, administration and staff of Columbia-Greene Community College were honored this month at an all-college meeting held prior to the start of fall classes:
• Laura Decker, of Old Chatham, N.Y., assistant director of financial aid/counselor for direct loans, received the 2017 President’s Award for Excellence in administration;
• Michael Gorman, of Catskill, audio-visual clerk typist, received the President’s Award for Excellence by a parttime staffer;
• Arlene Walch, of Ghent, adjunct nursing instructor, received the President’s Award for Excellence by adjunct faculty; and
• Michele DeCarlo, of East Durham, associate for public relations, received the President’s Award for Excellence among classified staff. Recipients of President’s Awards for Excellence are chosen annually by college President James R. Campion.
••• Amanda Costa, of Hurley, has been awarded the Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union Chairman’s Award for TALENT, which stands for Top Performance, Availability, Leadership, Energy, New Vision and Teamwork and is designed to encourage employees to go above and beyond and acknowledge employees’ dedication and commitment.
Costa began her career with the credit union four years ago as a personal teller representative and is now a training specialist, educating new and current employees.
She is a graduate of Kingston High School and SUNY Cortland.
