Stauderman, Spackenkil­l roll to win over Onteora

Erik Stauderman shot a 1-under-par 35 in a round that included four birdies to help lead Spackenkil­l High to a season-low team total in a 153-202 MHAL boys golf victory over Onteora at McCann.

Demetrious Maroukis scored a pair of goals, as Spackenkil­l High shut out Division III rival Ellenville, 4-0, in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys soccer match.

Corrado Mazzarelli had a goal and two assists, while Andrew Moreira added a goal for the (2-2 overall, 2-0 MHAL) Spartans, who outshot the (21) Devils 28-10. Ian Nevers and Brent Ackerman combined to make seven saves in the win.

Daniel Mahany stopped 10 shots in the loss for Ellenville. Onteora 4, Coleman 2

At Boiceville, Onteora scored twice in the second half to beat John A. Coleman Catholic.

Jair Mautone scored twice, including once on a Brandon Davenport assist, to give Coleman a 2-1 edge. Cooper Anderson tied for (2-2) Onteora before halftime and Liam McKeon and Tomas PeskoWest each connected in the final half to give the Eagles the win.

“We played tough and just capitalize­d when we had the chance,” Onteora coach Eric Pezzello said.

“Liam McKeon did a great job for us in the middle and

really helped guide our guys to stay focused. Our defense came up huge under constant pressure. Seniors Zach Chartrand and Jules Ragues really keyed in on their big guns and freshman Simon Rands stepped up huge and showed why he belongs.”

Ethan Nolan had tied for Onteora at 1-1 at the 28th minute.

Cole Whitehead had seven saves for the Eagles, while Coleman’s Jax Mautone’s made four. Highland 5, Marlboro 2

At Highland, Gino Mazzella had two goals and an assist to lead the Huskies to victory. Dario DiValentin­o had a goal and two assists, while Jordan Reynolds and Jimmy More also scored goals for Highland.

Matt Early had a goal and an assist, while Klaus Sullollari added a goal for the Dukes. Wallkill 6, Rondout 0

At Wallkill, John Locicero had two goals and Brenden Bready, Daniel Crisano, Sunny Tarantino and Joe DeGroodt each had one to lead the (5-1) Panthers.

Wallkill out-shot (1-2) Rondout Valley 23-6. Gander goalie Eric Bogart was kept busy, making 15 saves. Panther keeper Cole Popowick had four saves.
