ROSENDALE » Carol Ann Navara Micari, 72, of Hickory Bush Road, Rosendale, died at home Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017.

She was born in Queens, N.Y., on Nov. 6, 1944, a daughter of the late Vincent and Ada (Heather) Micari.

For more than 21 years, Carol was a caregiver to her late grandson, Nicholas P. Navara.

She was also employed as a bus aide for the New Paltz School district until March 2016.

She is survived by her children, Dwayne Louis Navara and partner Pam Long, of Rosendale, Louis Charles Navara, and his wife Hedy, of Ulster Park, Raymond Navara and his wife Dina, of Port Ewen, and AnnMarie Ada Cross and her husband Brian, of Plattekill; one brother, Lawrence Micari of South Carolina; and her grandchild­ren, Christophe­r, Eric, Saige and Cole Navara, Breeanne Beatty, Craig Nickerson, Jessie Cericola, and Brianna, Brian Jr., and Aaron Cross.

Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

In addition to her grandson, Nicholas, she was also predecease­d by three sisters, Nancy Schoonmake­r, Frances Tscherne, and Mary Taddeo; and two brothers, Vincent Nunzio Micari Jr. and Charles Heather.

The funeral service will begin 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at GilpatricV­anVliet Funeral Home, 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, Town of Esopus.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Cremation will follow privately at Wiltwyck Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributi­ons in Carol’s memory to Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County, P.O. Box 1488, Kingston, N.Y. 12402.
