Five Star Awards, Signs & Tees, Deuire’s advance in A playoffs
Five Star Awards, Signs & Tees and Deuire’s Trophies both advanced in the Kingston Recreation men’s A Division playoffs.
Deuire’s swept its bestof-3 series with the Corner Bar & Grill, winning 7-5 ans 12-7. Jack Fortner led the team with a homer and three RBI in the first game.
Five Star lost a 25-24 battle with Hometown Discount Beverage in their opening game, but bounced back to win the next two games and the series 19-8 and 25-6.
Joe Boland and Rob Stewart led Five Star with five homers and 14 RBI each in the threegame series. Boland drove in eight runs with two singles and three homers in the loss and had a home run and three RBI in each of the next two games. Stewart had a single, two doubles a homer and four RBI in the first game, knocked in four runs with a pair of homers in game two and collected six RBI on two singles and two homers in the decisive third game.
