Adams reaches men’s Upper D final

Adams Advanced to the Kingston Recreation League men’s softball Upper D Division finals with a 14-10 win over BCA.

BCA kept the game close throughout not allowing Adams to build more than a two point lead until the sixth when Adams put up a four-spot to take a 14-7 lead en route to the win.

Sam Peterman homered and had four RBI and Chris Greffrath doubled, hit three singles and had two RBI to lead Adams.

Andrew Thom hit a home run and Pat Wortman hit three singles to pace BCA in the loss.

In game two, down 6-2 BCA rallied for nine in the fourth to take an 11-6 lead en route to a 15-8 win over Adams.

BCA held Adams to just two additional runs through the remainder of the contest, while scoring one run in the fifth and adding three more in the seventh to put it out of hand.

Andrew Thom homered, smacked two doubles, knocked in four runs and John Connelly tripled and had two RBI to lead BCA.

Dave Wirnowski’s homer and two RBI paced Adams in the loss.

In game one Adams rallied for three in the top of the seventh to beat BCA 1210 in a back and forth contest.

Down 9-6 in fifth BCA had chipped away with one in the bottom frame and another three to take a 10-9 lead. Down 3-1 after one, Adams had built a 7-3 cushion in the third after scoring five in the second and adding another in the third, only to see BCA score three in the bottom frame to pull within one.

Chris Greffrath and Dave Wirnowski each belted a double and Zach Tyler had three RBI and Bob Greffrath knocked in two runs to lead Adams.

Andrew Thom and Bob Jones each hit a home run and had two RBI to pace BCA.
