In Loving Memory, Sept. 13, 1956 - Sept. 17, 2017. Guy Joel Fury passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sept. 17, 2017.

Guy was born Sept. 13, 1956, in Ilion, N.Y. He has three older brothers, Michael, Dane, and Randal, and two younger brothers, Craig and Kurt. Guy grew up in Ulster County (Saugerties/Woodstock) and graduated from Onteora High School in Boiceville, N.Y. He married his wife, Margaret (Peg) Hafford in Brooklyn, N.Y. Guy has a daughter, Nikki Fury, from a previous marriage to Goldie (Ann) Hildebrand Fury. Guy and Peggy resided in Tucson, Ariz. and Brooklyn, N.Y. Guy was an avid sportsman and fan, and his favorite sports teams were the New York Yankees and the New York Jets but he also enjoyed watching the New York Mets. He attended many sporting events in many cities throughout the country. Guy also loved music and he and Peggy attended many concerts over the years. He was a collector of sports and music memorabili­a. Guy earned an MBA from Marist College and he was a successful businessma­n with an accomplish­ed career in the insurance business. He worked for Allstate Insurance for 30+ years, retiring in December of 2015.

Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Lauer Fury, and his father, Arthur McKinley Fury.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peg) Hafford Fury; his daughter, Nikki Fury and fiance (Brand Diguardi); and his five brothers, Michael Fury (Joan) of Raleigh, N.C., Dane Fury (Jo-Ann) of Hopewell Jct., N.Y., Randal Fury (Faith) of Saugerties, N.Y., Craig Fury (Deborah) of Saugerties, N.Y., and Kurt Fury (Phyllis) of Westminste­r, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Guy loved his family and he was always there for them and would do anything to help them if needed. He had a great sense of humor and a great smile to go with it. Guy was a great man and loved by his entire family and many friends. He is a cancer survivor and was cancer-free for his last 10 years. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live on forever. A memorial celebratio­n is planned for a later date in Brooklyn, N.Y.
