KINGSTON » Marion Maines Lockwood, 95, of Kingston, passed peacefully, Thursday evening, Oct. 5, 2017, at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 24, 1922, in Kingston, the daughter of the late Jesse and Christine Macartney DuBois.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1939, and for many years worked for the New York Telephone Company.

She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday School teacher, a member and past president of the Young Women’s Club, member and past president of the Women of the Evangelica­l Lutheran Church in America, served on the church council and was active in the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Huguenot Historical Society and past president of the Freer-Low Family Associatio­n, member and past president of the Married Women of the YWCA, member of the board of the YMCA, member of R.S.V.P. and the Hillside Acres Garden Club, and member and past president of the Parent Teachers Associatio­n Council. She enjoyed playing Bridge on a regular basis, and for many years played golf.

Marion is survived by her children, Christine J. Symula and her husband John of Remsen and Thomas “Tim” D. Maines of Kingston; a stepdaught­er, Marie Fox of Stone Ridge; grandchild­ren, Christophe­r Symula and his fiancée Amy Stewart, Lori Ward and her husband Erik, Matthew Symula, Brian Fox and his wife Christine, Gregory Fox and his wife Alana; and several greatgrand­children, nieces and nephews.

She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Maines, Louis J. Maines and Leon H. Lockwood.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston.

The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. The service will be 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
