SAUGERTIES » Gregory A. Mulstay, 90, of Main St., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck.

Born Nov. 19, 1926, in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Gregory Mulstay, Sr., and Lila Minnichell­i Mulstay Ledwith. A Veteran of World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge he remained active as a Life Member of American Legion Post #72 and the WWII Navy Veterans, and a Charter Member of the World War II American Battle Monument Society.

A Saugerties area resident for the majority of his life he worked for the Rinaldi family, then managed and subsequent­ly owned and operated Rinaldi Market until 1978. He then worked for EG&G Rotron where he retired in 1998. Active in the Saugerties Community he served one term as Saugerties Assessor and two terms as Village Trustee. He was a member of the South Side Mens Club, an Honorary member of the CA Lynch Fire Co. He was a Parishione­r of St. Mary of the Snow Roman Catholic Church serving as an usher for the 9 a.m. Mass and more recently the 8 a.m. Mass since 1954. He was a Third Degree member of the Saugerites Knights of Columbus Council #4536, a charter member of St.Jude’s Children Hospital and Father Flanigan’s Boys Town of Nebraska.

Survivors include a son, Shane (Kelly) Mulstay of Saugerties, and a daughter, Mary (Kevin) Gray of Kerhonkson.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Marian; four brothers: Louis Mininchell­i, Edward Mulstay, James Ledwith and Bertram Ledwith; and three sisters: Louise, Margaret, and Lila Mulstay.

His Funeral Procession will form Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Corner of John and Lafayette Sts. Thence to St. Mary of the Snow where at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Internment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-to-4 and 7 to 9p.m.
