Undefeated Rhinebeck nets shutout over Ellenville

Samantha McClenahan had a hat trick as Rhinebeck High blanked Ellenville 7-0 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League soccer match Tuesday.

Elise Voorhis connected on a Stephanie Cassens assist in the first minute to make it 1-0. McClenehan kicked Libby Callahan assists into the net in the fifth and 11th minutes to make it 3-0. Voorhis pushed the lead to 4-0 in the 32nd minute before Cassens put one between the posts in the 38th minute to make it 5-0 at the half.

McClenehan connected on a Cassens assist in the 47th minute to give the Raiders a 6-0 lead and Eve Kantarus put a Voorhis assist in the net in 66th minute to round the scoring.

Rhinebeck (12-0 overall, 9-0 MHAL) dominated 25-2 on shots on goal and 17-2 on corner kicks.

Dani Amidon had two saves to preserve the shutout, while Colleen Stevens and Vanelys Malave combined for 10 saves for the (1-8, 1-7) Devils. Marlboro 8, Saugerties 0

At Marlboro, Kali Schindler registered her schoolreco­rd 13th and 14th assists of the season and scored a goal for the Dukes.

“Both Bryn Ercolani and Kali Schindler did great jobs of keeping the middle secure,” Marlboro coach Keith Walker said. “Kali was efficient with her choices of passes in creating goal scoring opportunit­ies.”

Hannah Sullivan opened scoring with the first of four goals on the day off an Ercolani assist in the fourth minute.

Schindler connected on a Meagan O’Brien assist 10 minutes later, while Eliz Fino put a Sullivan assist in the 37th minute to make it 3-0 at the half.

The Dukes picked up right where they left off in the second half, with Sullivan scoring in the 43rd minute to make it 4-0. Marlboro scored four more with Lizzy Lofaro putting a Schindler assist in the net in the 47th minute; Sullivan linking up with Lofaro in the 48th minute; Schindler scoring in the 50th minute and Lofaro rounding out the scoring off a Sullivan assist in the 57th minute.

Marlboro (9-3, 3-3) dominated 17-3 on shots and 5-1 on corners.

Alyssa Stoebling and Alyssa Macur combined for four saves for the Dukes, while Renata Simera and Grace Van Roy collaborat­ed for nine for the Sawyers in the loss. Red Hook 4, New Paltz 0

At New Paltz, the (10-0 MHAL) Raiders blanked the Huguenots to improve to 13-1 overall.

Tessa Husted connected with Casey Stein in the 14th minute to make it 1-0 and Grace Hennig scored for a 2-0 lead at the half.

Goals by AJ FuchsWhite in the 42nd minute and Erika Ljutich in the 75th minute rounded the Red Hook scoring. The Raiders dominated 11-3 in shots and held a 4-1 edge in corners.

Amber Serrano had two saves to preserve the shutout for Red Hook, while Cameryn Lesko-Jelley stopped four shots in the loss for New Paltz. Rondout 2, Webutuck 0

At Kyeserike, Annika Berlin scored two goals, both off Sophia Modugno assists, to lift the Ganders to a non-league win.

Baylee Szekeres recorded seven saves for Rondout in the shutout, while Laura Mendez stopped 14 for the Warriors. Roosevelt 2, Highland 0

At Hyde Park, Sydney Currier scored twice to lead the (4-8) Presidents.

Abby Thomas assisted on the first goal. Alana Cathcart had three saves to earn the shutout. Roosevelt outshot Highland 22-4. Dover 3, Pine Plains 0

At Pine Plains, the Dragons blanked the Bombers to drop them to 1-9.

Lucy Rosser put Dover on the board in fifth minute and Chiara Cardiello scored in the 32nd minute for a 2-0 lead at halftime. Abbey Wood scored in the 55th minute to round the scoring.

Mackenzie Winsker had 12 saves for Dover while Melissa Leach had 11 stops for Pine Plains.
