A man who disappeared “without a trace” on Jan. 26 is not likely to be found alive, a state police investigator said Friday.

Brandyn Dayne “Multy” Foster, 31, originally of Woodstock, was living in Catskill at the time of his disappearance, and “there is a strong indication that he is deceased,” Senior Investigator Peter Kusminsky said.

Kusminsky said Foster’s disappearance first was reported to Woodstock police on Jan. 26 by his mother, who lives in the town. He said Foster’s disappearance is considered suspicious because he has had “no contact whatsoever with family members.”

On Friday, police investigating Foster’s disappearance searched at two locations in the village of Catskill, Kusminsky said.

They began their search at 5 a.m. at 126 Tool House Road and 139 Broom St. in the Greene County community. The work, which involved digging at both locations, resulted in “some items” being collected, Kusminsky said. He would not identify the items and said police were not yet sure if they are pertinent to the investigation.

Kusminsky said Foster’s car was recovered, but he would not say when or where. He said none of Foster’s possessions have been located.

Kusminsky said anyone with information involving Foster’s disappearance should call state police (518) 622-8600.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice’s “NamUs Missing Persons Database” website, Foster, 31, is black, 6-foot-2, weighs 300 pounds and has brown hair that he wears in a bun.

The website also said he has several tattoos, including one on his stomach that says “Most Hated 1986.”
