Rhinebeck coach earns 100th victory
Matt Grande celebrated his 100th win as Rhinebeck High’s girls soccer coach Thursday as the Hawks downed MidHudson Athletic League rival Spackenkill 2-0 to remain undefeated.

After 57 scoreless minutes, Stephanie Cassens kicked a feed from Samantha McClenahan in the net to put Rhinebeck up 1-0. Two minutes later, McClenahan connected on a Cassens assist to extend the lead to 2-0.
“The first half, we spent a lot of time in the midfield and had our chances,” Grande said. “After some halftime adjustments we figured out the best way to attack, and more importantly, defend them.
“Both teams gave it everything they had and it really was an incredible game to watch.”
Rhinebeck held a 9-6 edge in shots, while the Spartans led 7-3 on corners.
Dani Amidon came up with three saves the Hawks (13-0), while Madeline McCall stopped four for (10-22) Spackenkill. Saugerties 1, Highland 1
At Saugerties, Emily Peterson’s goal of a feed from Brooke Harris in the 75th minute lifted the Huskies to a draw with the Sawyers.
Kira Podmayersky’s goal off a Nicole Klein in the 25th minute had given Saugerties a 1-0 lead.
The Sawyers edged Highland 9-7 in shots on goal.
Renta Simera had six saves for Saugerties, while Mollee Stafford registered seven for the Huskies. Onteora 4, Pine Plains 0
At Pine Plains, Halle King scored twice, Cecilia Maillet had a goal and one assist, Analie Ingalsbe added a goal and Sara Beckwith assisted on one of the tallies to lead Onteora.
Grace Hallinan made three saves in to record the shutout for the Eagles. Wallkill 5, Marlboro 2
At Wallkill, Iffy Ezedum had two goals and an assist to lead the Panthers.
Samantha Muller had a goal and an assist, while Hallie Klosterman and Alyssa Kelly also scored in the win. Brianna Cross and Caroline Frank, meanwhile, made two saves each for (10-3 overall) Wallkill.
Lizzy Lofaro scored both goal for the (9-4, 6-4) Dukes, while Hannah Sullivan had an assist. Alyssa Stoebling, meanwhile, stopped 17 shots in the loss. New Paltz 1, Rondout 0
At Kyserike, Anna McDuffie’s goal lifted the Huguenots.
