Vernon S. Hurley, 59. of Saugerties

-

Vernon S. Hurley, 59, of the Charles Bach Rd. died Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, surrounded by his family at his residence.

Born Feb. 16, 1958, in New York City he is the son of Benjamin and Anna Levinto Hurley.

Vern yearned all his life to live in the mountains of New York and got to do so for the last five years, making Saugerties his home. He will be missed by this community. He was honest, kind, empathetic, patient and dedicated. He was a man of few words, but said so much with his smile, his actions, and his music, a guitar player all his life.

Besides his parents of St. Petersburg, Fla., survivors include his partner, Catherine O’Brien Levey; two daughters, Lisa Knipe of St. Petersburg, and Meagan Rodriguez of Tampa; a son, Keifer Hurley; a sister, Robin Hurley, both of Florida; and a grandson, Benjamin Vernon Rodriguez; as well as his loving extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank Costanzi Crane, Vern’s employer, for their kindness, generosity and support during this difficult time — words cannot express our gratitude, “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”

His Funeral Service will be held privately. Arrangements are under the direction of the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Expressions of condolence may be shared with the family www.SeamonWilseyFuneralHome.com/
