Pine Plains rallies for win over Dover

Pine Plains High dropped the first set, then held off Dover to win in four sets in MidHudson Athletic League volleyball action Friday.

The Bombers won 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-19 behind the strong play of Haley Strang (15 kills, one block), Johanna Schmidt (11 kills, two blocks, six aces) and Emily Mason (four kills, one block, four aces). Rhinebeck 3, Onteora 0

At Rhinebeck, the Hawks swept Onteora 25-6, 25-3, 25-7 behind Anna Booz (20 service points including eight aces, nine assists, one kill), Nora Shanahan (12 points, nine aces, five kills) and Lauren Platt (10 points, five aces, three kills).

Cassidy Lohrer (nine digs, one kill), Lorelie Davis (two kills, one block, one ace) and Amelia Schlichtli­ng (one kill, one assist, one dig, one ace) led Onteora. Saugerties 3, Marlboro 0

At Marlboro, Saugerties improved to 7-4 with a 2516, 25-13, 25-17 sweep of the Dukes. Darian Wood (eight kills, seven digs, eight aces), Sammy Schatzel (12 kills, one block, six digs) and Shay Sullivan (15 assists) paced the Sawyers.

Gabrielle Nelson (21 assists), Jewel Schroder (six kills, two blocks, two assists) and Leah Heimink (six digs) led Marlboro. Rondout 3, Fallsburg 0

At Fallsburg, Rondout Valley is now 9-5 after a 2521, 25-6, 25-20 non-league win over the Comets.

Mary Sommer (five kills, one block, 13 assists, two aces, five digs), Lauren Parete (nine assists, three kills, seven aces), Lauren Skeen (eight digs), Ashley Emmo (six digs) and Shelby Hoffstatte­r (four digs, one kill) guided the Ganders.
