Graduated

• U.S. Air Force Airman Philipp H. Sardaro, the son of Milan residents, graduated from basic training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Airmen completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

A 2017 graduate of Stissing Mountain High School in Pine Plains, he is the son of Melisa B. and Alfred X. Sardaro of Milan.

The following area residents serving in the New York Army National Guard were promoted:

• Vincent McCollum of Milton, N.Y., assigned to the Battery A, 1-258th Field Artillery, to the rank of specialist.

• Marla Ogden of Tillson, N.Y., assigned to the Headquarte­rs and Headquarte­rs Detachment, 501st Ordance Battalion (Explosive Ordance Disposal), to the rank of specialist.

The following area residents serving in the New York Army National Guard reenlisted:

• First Sgt. Shaun Butcher of Wallkill, serving with Company C, 2-108th Infantry.

• Cpl. Dillon Smith of Pine Bush, serving with the 1156th Engineer Company.
