Five Star earns men’s A crown

KINGSTON, N.Y. » Five Star Awards, Signs and Tees needed just two games to prevail over Deuire’s Trophies to take the Kingston Recreation League A Division crown.

Trailing 15-13 after three innings in game two, Five Star scored 11 runs and tacked on eight more in the fifth to clinch the championsh­ip,

Rob Stewart belted three home runs and knocked in 11 runs, Randy Delaney had two homers and five RBI and Kenny Banks homered and drove in five to lead Five Star.

Jonny Lowe tripled and doubled to pace Deuire’s.

In game one Five Star prevailed 21-16 in a back and forth contest where the lead changed four times and they scored 12 runs in the last two innings.

Joe Boland had four hits, including two homers to drive in three runs and Mike Negron homered and had four RBI in Five Star’s win.

Lowe drove in five runs with a triple and two singles, Matt Connors homered twice and Eric Molinaro had five RBI to lead Duire’s.
