Concert, open mic Nov. 4 at library
WHAT: Concert and open mic WHEN: Nov. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
WHERE: Community room of Gardiner Library, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike, Gardiner
DETAILS: The Gardiner Community Concert Series and Open Mic continues with featured performer NCM, featuring Pete Crotty and Jeremy Boniello doing acoustic originals. NCM, based out of Brooklyn and New Paltz, is an eccentric, eclectic concoction of raw old-school punk, driving rhythms, and acoustic and folk elements, created by the musical alchemist Pete Crotty. Each concert in the series begins with a potluck dinner at 6 p.m., followed by an open mic at 6:45 PM. The second act is the featured performer. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish, an appetite and harmonies.

Senior recital takes place Nov. 4 at Vassar
WHAT: Senior recital WHEN: Nov. 4 at 1:30 p.m. WHERE: Skinner Hall’s Martel Recital Hall on the campus of Vassar College, 124 Raymond Ave., Poughkeepsie
DETAILS: Baritone Michael Oosterhout will be performing his senior recital. He will sing the music of Mozart, Schubert, Fauré and Barber. He will be assisted by Gregg Michalak on piano and the Vassar Chamber Music string quartet. The recital is free and open to the public.
