Sanfords married 60 years
Former Kingston residents Barbara and Edward Sanford celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary September 16th with a renewal of vows at the Vineyard Church in Canon City, CO, with their son, Bryan, officiating, Daughters Ellyn and Sharon and grandson, Cody, representing his deceased father, were the witnesses.
A reception followed, hosted by their children. A 1950’s theme photo booth was a fun addition to the luncheon, served in a beautifully decorated area.
The Sanfords were married September 14, 1957 at St. Peter’s Church, Kingston. They moved from Saugerties area to Boulder, CO., in 1965 and retired in Pueblo West in 2000.
They were blest with six children, all born in Kingston: Susan (David) Lahti, of Mt. View, Hawaii, Bryan (Julia) Penrose, CO., Ellyn Rush of Loveland, CO, Sharon (John) Hudson of Firestone, CO., Stephen (deceased), and Jon (Diane) of The Colony, TX. They have also been blessed with 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Sanford, a KHS graduate Class of 1952, was employed by IBM retiring after 30 years of service.
Barbara Stalter Sanford graduated from the Academy of St. Ursula, Class of 1954, and the Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed in various medical areas over the years and also operated a dairy farm for 17 years.
The couple sends best wishes to family and old friends in the Kingston area, and wish many of you could have been with them on this special occasion.
