Houston Texans owner Bob McNair has released a second apology and is attempting to explain his comments, a day after a report revealed that he said “we can’t have the inmates running the prison” during a meeting of NFL owners about players who protest by kneeling during the national anthem.

McNair, who first apologized in a statement on Friday, released a second statement regarding his comments on Saturday.

He says he wasn’t referring to the players in what he calls a “very regretful comment.” Instead he says he was “referring to the relationship between the league office and team owners and how they have been making significant strategic decisions affecting our league without adequate input from ownership over the past few years.”

English goalie red carded for urinating during match

A goalkeeper was sent off for urinating during an English football match on Saturday.

Salford keeper Max Crocombe was issued a red card for relieving himself at the home of Bradford Park Avenue in the National League North, the seventh tier of English football.

A supporter is also believed to have reported Crocombe, a 24-year-old New Zealander, to police.

“He was told by the steward twice not to do it and he went ahead and had a pee,” Bradford Park Avenue club secretary Colin Barker said. “He went to the side of the stand as I understand it. I didn’t actually see it but the referee definitely sent him off for it because he was alerted to it by his linesman.

Delta: Bird likely damaged plane carrying Thunder

Delta Airlines says a charter flight carrying the Oklahoma City Thunder from Minneapolis to Chicago apparently encountered a bird early Saturday when it was landing, causing damage that prompted some players to post photos on social media showing the caved-in nose of the plane.

Carmelo Anthony, Josh Huestis, and Steven Adams all posted photos of the plane shortly after it landed around 12:45 a.m.

Anthony wrote on Instagram , “What possibly could we have hit in the SKY at this time of night? Everyone is Safe, Though.”

Adams’ Twitter post said , “We had a rough flight to say the least.”

Huestis wrote on Twitter , “I guess we hit something? 30,000 feet up...”
