The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system.
Catskill
· Weapon/menacing: Jason Depace, 33, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 2:22 p.m. Oct. 24 at 454 Main St. and charged with the felony of possession of a weapon with a previous conviction, the misdemeanor of menacing with a weapon, and the violation of disorderly conduct/violent behavior. Depace was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
· Assault/weapon: Daniel A. Dempsey, 55, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 7:28 p.m. Thursday at 52 North St. and charged with the felonies of assault and possession of a weapon with a previous conviction. Dempsey was sent to the Greene County Jail without bail.
· Weapon/assault: Heaven J. Strother, 27, of Catskill, was arrested by Catskill police at 6:30 p.m. Friday on state Route 23 and charged with the felonies of possession of a weapon with a previous conviction and assault. Strother was sent to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
· DWI: Robert L. Simpson, 36, of Catskill, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 4:58 a.m. Monday on Anbach Lane in the town and charged with the misdemeanors of driving with a bloodalcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent and drunken driving. Simpson was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
· DWI: Dylan B. Nowik, 25, of Palenville, was arrested by state police at Catskill at 2:17 a.m. Sunday on state Route 23A in the town and charged with the misdemeanors of driving with a blood-alcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent and drunken driving. Nowik was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
Livingston
· Falsifying business
records: Dylan T. Staats, 26, of Tivoli, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 10:35 a.m. Sunday at state police barracks, 3353 U.S. Route 9, and charged with the felony of falsifying business records and the misdemeanor of criminal impersonation of another person. Staats was released with a ticket for Livingston Town Court.
Marbletown
· DWI: Matthew E. Beesmer, 53, of West Hurley, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 12:52 a.m. Monday on U.S. Route 209 and charged with the misdemeanors of driving with a bloodalcohol level exceeding 0.08 percent and drunken driving. Beesmer was released with a ticket for Marbletown Town Court.
Saugerties
· DWI: Austin T. Andrew, 24, of 53 Vestal Hills Drive, Kingston, was arrested by Saugerties Police on South Partition Street in the village at 2:48 a.m. Sunday and charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and aggravated drunken driving and the violation of failing to stay right. Andrew failed to negotiate a turn on South Partition Street, ran off the road and struck a wall belonging to the Diamond Mills, police said. Andrew was released with a ticket for Saugerties Village Court.
Wawarsing
· Drugs: Lloyd M. Kurth, 22, of Ellenville, was arrested by state police at Wawarsing at 9:15 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 209 and charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. Kurth was released with a ticket for Wawarsing Town Court.
Town of Ulster
· Welfare fraud: Vanessa Bobo, age unavailable, of Saugerties, was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 26 and charged with the felonies of welfare fraud and four counts of offering a false instrument for filing. Bobo’s arrest followed an investigation by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigations Unit in conjunction with the Ulster County District Attorney and resulted in an accusation that Bobo failed to accurately report earned income from March 2017 through October 2017, resulting in the receipt of $3,134 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program assistance to which she was not entitled. She was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
