Thanksgivi­ng interfaith community service on Nov. 14

KINGSTON, N.Y. » A Thanksgivi­ng interfaith community service will take place Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. at Congregati­on Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave.

The theme will be “Holding Safe Spaces with and for One Another through Songs of Joy and Gratitude.’ There will be a teaching by the Rev. Filomena Servellon of Holy Cross/Santa Cruz Episcopal Church. Other participan­ts will include a Native American chanting and drumming group, the children’s choir of New Progressiv­e Baptist Church, the Mount Academy Bruderhof Chorus, and the youth and adult choruses of Congregati­on Emanuel.

Admission is free. All are welcome. There will be potluck pies and refreshmen­ts.

EAST KINGSTON, N.Y. » The parish of St. Catherine Laboure — St. Colman will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgivi­ng and in Remembranc­e of All Souls on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Colman’s Church, 18 Brigham St.

Mass of Thanksgivi­ng at Saugerties church on Nov. 23

A Mass of Thanksgivi­ng will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 23, at 9 a.m. at St. Mary of the Snow-St. Joseph Church Roman Catholic Church, 36 Cedar St.

The congregati­on is invited to join in the offertory procession, bringing to the altar an unwrapped toy suitable for infant to teen. The toys will be distribute­d locally at Christmas through the Area of Council of Churches Toy Store. A basket will also be available for monetary donations.
