Lunch and Learn event at Rhinebeck library
WHAT: Lunch and Learn event WHEN: Dec. 14 at 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Clinton Community Library, 1215 Centre Road, Rhinebeck
DETAILS: The library welcomes back Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum Education Specialst Jeff Urbin for a Lunch & Learn lecture. Roosevelt held the first of his famous “Fireside Chats” just days into his presidency in 1933. Urbin will talk about how FDR demonstrated his understanding of the importance of bringing accurate and unfiltered information directly from the source to the people. A light lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by the lecture at 1 p.m. The program is free, but pre-registration is requested.

Library offers digital photography workshop
WHAT: Workshop, “Capturing the Moment — Digital Photography” WHEN: Dec. 3 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. WHERE: Hover Room of Germantown Library, 31 Palatine Park Road, Germantown
DETAILS: In this digital age of smartphones and tablets, the art of photography is practiced more than ever. Professional photographer and photography instructor Joel Weisbrod helps photographers of all experience and skill levels improve their approach to capturing the moment. Preregistration is recommended.
