Hurley man gets 7 months in jail for Woodstock thefts
A Hurley man has been sentenced to seven months in the Ulster County Jail for violating probation and was ordered to pay restitution and fines for thefts in Woodstock, the Town Court clerk said Wednesday.
Frank Kondratowicz, 65, of Maverick Road, was sentenced Tuesday by Town Justice Richard Husted. After accounting for time served, Kondratowicz will be released on Feb. 13, 2018, court clerk Linda Rose said.
Kondratowicz was arrested Sept. 14 by Woodstock police and charged with the felony of grand larceny and four misdemeanor counts of petit larceny.
On Tuesday, the grand larceny felony count was reduced to petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and Kondratowicz was ordered to pay a fine of $500, a $205 surcharge and a $50 DNA fee, Rose said.
Kondratowicz was on probation in connection with an April 27, 2016, arrest by state police at Shokan. In that case, he was initially charged with burglary, a felony, and the charge also was reduced to petit larceny, a misdemeanor, according to court records.
Additionally on Tuesday, Kondratowicz was ordered to pay his victim, who was not identified, $2,632 in restitution, Rose said. The court will determine the value of other items stolen and add an additional restitution amount at a later date, she said.
In October, Woodstock police said they were investigating Kondratowicz, a carpenter, for allegedly using customer’s credit cards to make unauthorized purchases.
