» Margaret M. “Peggy” Drolet died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. Born April 21, 1937, in Ellenville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Louis and Edna (Verkens) Schwamb.

Peggy also known by her nickname, “Red,” was a loving mother and homemaker. She also worked as a waitress, bartender, and worked in the cafeteria at Kingston High School. Peggy ran a ceramic shop out of her house on Stanley Street and was a volunteer at the gift shop at Benedictin­e Hospital.

She is survived by her children: William W. Palmer, Jennifer D. Smith and her husband Joel, Kristi M. Drolet and Ronald S. Drolet Jr.; her brothers, Harold Baker and Howard Baker and his wife Sandra; her grandchild­ren, Collin and Jenna Smith, Coleman Altizio, and Brandon North, Marcel, Jacob, Conner and Mila Drolet; her nieces, Donna and Diane Baker; as well as a canine companion, Maggie Mae. She was predecease­d by her husband, Ronald Drolet Sr.; a daughter, Kathleen Juanita Bandis; and two brothers, Donald and George Baker.

Funeral and cremation arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home Inc., 27 Smith Ave., Kingston (www.jvleahyfh.com). Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Inurnment at St. Mary’s Cemetery will take place at a later date.
