BLOOMINGTO­N » Jerry P. Bogardus, 65, of Creek Locks Rd., passed on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at the Golden Hill Nursing Facility.

He was born in Kingston on Feb. 15, 1952, to the late Watson (Pete) and Doris Valk Bogardus.

Jerry grew up on Valk Road in Saugerties and attended Saugerties High School. He entered the U.S. Army and was stationed on the DMZ between North and South Korea during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to this area and began a career as a auto mechanic. He was employed for over 20 years with Lezette Express. He loved classic cars and enjoyed attending local car shows. Jerry was a member of the N.R.A. and liked to travel.

Survivors include his life partner of 30 years, Judy Falcon; son, Jerry Jr. of Kerhonkson; sister, Bonnie (Paul) Zmiyarch of Kiskatom; stepchildr­en, Christina (Brian) Spindler of Sterling, Va., and Isaac (Gaby) Falcon of Lake Katrine; and seven grandchild­ren, Vicki, Bianca, Margarita, Jerry, Isabella, Amaya, and Jesse. Three nephews, Raymond, Cory, and Chad, also survive.

He was predecease­d by his sister, Sandra Weiss.

His Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc., corner of John and Lafayette Sts., Saugerties. Burial with military honors will follow in the Palenville Cemetery. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
