Saugerties tips Red Hook; FDR wins

Saugerties High held off a late surge by Red Hook to escape with a 45-43 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League girls basketball game Friday.

The Sawyers built a 2315 lead by the half, but Red Hook hung tough and rallied in the fourth quarter.

The Raiders rallied from 15 points down in the third quarter to tie at 43. Saugerties reclaimed the lead/. Red Hook had a 3-point field goal attempt to win rim out with two seconds left.

Grace Van Roy scored 17 points, had 13 rebounds and three steals and Jaclyn Murphy scored nine points to lead the Sawyers. Crissy Gilderslee­ve’s 11 points paced Red Hook. At Hyde Park, Jaelen Daubon and Kelsea Demelis scored 13 and 12 points, respective­ly, to lead unbeaten (4-0) Roosevelt.

Deliah Smith had seven points and dished out seven assists and Kamryn Hammond also scored seven points for the Presidents.

Ify Ezedum had nine points to guide Wallkill. Spackenkil­l 55, Onteora 33

At Poughkeeps­ie, Issy Herrera scored 16 points and had seven steals and five assists to lead Spackenkil­l over Onteora.

Noelle Mancini (nine points, eight rebounds, six blocks), Olivia Zykoff (nine points, four blocks) and Alyssa Barahona (eight points, 12 steals, five assists) paced the (1-0 MHAL, 1-2 overall) Spartans.

Grace Hallinan scored 10 points and Kylie Kleine and Juliette Patterson each had five points to pace (1-1, 1-2) Onteora. Onteora 59, Dover 15

At Boiceville, Hallinan had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, to go with six steals, on Thursday to lead the Eagles to their first girls basketball win of the season.

Nicole Lane had 11 points and Patterson added 10 points and grabbed five rebounds for Onteora. New Paltz 51, Pine Plains 26

At Pine Plains, Hailey Osborne had 15 points and Bella Santos 13 to lead New Paltz to victory.

Haley Strang (10 points, seven rebounds, two steals), Peyton Gardner (seven rebounds, two assists) and Lily Brenner (six rebounds) led the Bombers.
