» Marlene Etter, 79, of Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Kingston, N.Y., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Delray Medical Center.
Born in Ellenville, she was a daughter of the late Emanuel Dittenheimer and Rose Feldman Dittenheimer.
Marlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her monthly Book Club, The Audubon Society (she could tell you the type of any bird with just a quick look), sailing, and golf. She was known for baking the best chocolate chip cookies. On July 14, 1957, she married her High School Sweet Heart Gary Etter.
Marlene is survived by two sons, Joel Etter and his wife Marjorie of Brockton, Mass., and Dr. Gregg Etter and his partner Donald of Swansea, Mass.; four grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Ben, and Sam; several nieces and nephews; and several greatnieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marlene was predeceased by her husband, Gary Etter, who passed in 2005; her brother, William Dittenheimer; her sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Richard Rothman; and her niece, Jill Trachtenberg.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Ezrath Israel Cemetery in Wawarsing, N.Y., at 11 a.m.
