18U Ulster Fillies bow in quarterfinals
The Kingston American Legion Post 150 18U Ulster Fillies fell to the SC Hurricanes 5-4 in the quarterfinals of a tourney at the Adirondack Sports Complex as they opened their winter season. The Fillies fell to the Hurricanes despite outhitting them 10-6.
Kacie Allison threw a complete game in the loss.
Shannon Bonewit (triple, single two RBI), Megan Peace (double, single, RBI) and Alyssa Finno (two singles), led the Fillies, who also got a hit each from Allison, Vanessa Brandt and Sydney Bonewit.
Tori Decker threw a complete game one-hitter, fanning six as the Fillies blanked the Capital Region Reign 10-0 in Sunday’s opener.
Jess Chilcott (two doubles, four RBI), Shannon Bonewit (triple, single, two RBI), Finno (double, single, RBI) Allison (double) and Kailey Collins (double) led the Fillies.
The Fillies started Friday with a 5-2 loss to the EC Impact Gold.
Bonewit (home run) and Peace (doubled, single) led the Fillies’ offense in the loss.
But Ulster would bounce back, with Allison throwing a no-hitter as the Fillies rolled over the Greylock Thunder 10-0.
Peace (three RBI), Chilcott (3-3 on base, two runs), Shannon Bonewit (two RBI) and Finno (double) keyed the win over Greylock.
Sydney Bonewit, Finno and Allison each hit a homer in the fifth inning to break open a close game as the Fillies beat the Hustlers 5-1 to wrap up Saturday play.
Shannon Bonewit tossed a two-hitter for the win.
