Holiday Fund donations top $8,000
KINGSTON, N.Y. » The Freeman’s 2017 Holiday Fund campaign has raised $8,097 to date thanks to the donations of readers.
The annual campaign, in its 41st year, runs from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
The donations are distributed to the fund’s primary beneficiaries: The People’s Place of Kingston, Family, and the Community Action Agency programs in Dutchess, Greene and Ulster counties.
The fund was begun in 1977 and raised a total of $560,000 through the end of the 2016 holiday season.
Contributions are accepted by mail or in person at Holiday Fund, Daily Freeman, 79 Hurley Ave., Kingston, N.Y. 12401.
All of the money goes to the charities. Administrative fees are paid by the Freeman.
