TILLSON » Shirley Ann Simpson, 72, of Tillson, N.Y., passed away peacefully on Dec. 21, 2017. She was surrounded by loving family and friends, ending her final bout with dementia. She lived a happy, successful, fulfilling life, which allowed her to travel, care for the elderly, and become a role model for others. She had an amazing sense of humor with a laugh that was so infectious, it would bring joy to anyone in her presence. She fought the disease with acceptance, attentiveness, astonishing vigor, courage, bravery, and the relaxing sounds of the Temptations in the evening. She married Charles Leon Simpson of Tifton, Ga., on June 23, 1968, after meeting in New Paltz, N.Y., in 1966. Truly an epic love story of when North meets the South. The young couple moved to Tillson, N.Y., in 1973 with their daughters. She had a deep compassion for helping others and dedicated her life doing so. Shirley’s professional career was spent in the health care industry, working as a certified nursing assistant.
