Catskill
• Drugs: An 18-year-old girl from Orange, Conn., was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 1:49 a.m. Thursday on state Route 23 in the town and was charged with two misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and the violation of possession of marijuana. The teen, who was not identified by state police because of her age, was released with a ticket for Catskill Town Court.
Livingston
• Forged instrument: Connor R. Hallock, 23, of Hudson, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the state police barracks at 3353 U.S. Route 9 and was charged with possession of a forged instrument, a felony. Hallock was released with a ticket for Livingston Town Court.
Shandaken
• Criminal mischief: Austin C. Robinson, 19, of Shandaken, was arrested by state police at Ulster at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday and was charged with criminal mischief, a felony, and with harassment with physical contact, a violation. Robinson was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail pending a town court appearance.
Town of Ulster
• Welfare fraud: Madeline Marrero-Ruiz, 47, of Wallkill, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday and was charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing (four counts), all felonies. An investigation conducted by the Ulster County Department of Social Services Special Investigation Unit, along with the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office, determined that Marrero-Ruiz failed to report income from November 2014 to October 2017 and filed multiple falsified documents with the department during that period. Marrero-Ruiz is accused of receiving $8,325.00 in SNAP (food stamp) benefits to which was not entitled. MarreroRuiz was released with a ticket for Ulster Town Court.
