Guitarist Temple plays two shows at center
Classical guitarist and composer perform music from around the globe.
Classical guitarist and composer David Temple will perform music from around the globe, celebrating the season of peace, beauty, and brotherhood, in a show titled “My Favorite Things” on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 29 and 30, at 8 p.m. at The Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, 661 Route 308, Rhinebeck.
The show will feature favorites by Johann Sebastian Bach alongside rarely heard gems from South America and elsewhere.
Temple has performed throughout the country as a soloist, accompanist and ensemble player. He is dedicated to presenting guitar performances that are full of color and variety, and to making
the concert experience as enjoyable for the newcomer as for the experienced listener.
Concerts and venues where he has performed include the Festival of the Arts at Mohonk, the Ulster Chamber Music Series, the Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society and the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta.
A graduate of the music school at Eastern Michigan University, Temple is artistic director and vice president of the Mid-Hudson Classical Guitar Society. He teaches both guitar and composition
at Bard Conservatory, Preparatory Division, and at his home studio in Red Hook.
He has produced four recordings, which include an eclectic selection from the repertoire, as well as original arrangements and compositions.
