City of Kingston

• Drugs: Jason B. Shultis, 43, of Kingston, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies after being stopped on Delaware Avenue at 11:41 p.m. Tuesday and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeano­rs. Shultis was also issued several traffic violations. Deputies said Shultis was operating the motor vehicle with a suspended license and was in possession of a small quantity of crack cocaine. He was issued a court appearance ticket.

• Drugs: Michael P. Kelly, 23, of Saugerties, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday on Broadway and was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a felony, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle , a misdemeano­r. He was also issued several traffic violations. Deputies said Kelly was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license; further investigat­ion revealed he was in possession of more than eight ounces of marihuana and drug parapherna­lia, deputies said. Kelly was issued a court appearance ticket.

Napanoch

• Petit larceny: Edward Carroll Jr., 48, of Ellenville, was arrested by Ulster County sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 21 and was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeano­r. An investigat­ion determined that Carroll had legally purchased an item from the Walmart store in Napanoch on Dec. 18, but returned on Dec. 20, saying he never received the item, deputies said. He was given a second item, but it was soon discovered that witnesses had observed Carroll with the first item immedi-

ately after he purchased it on Dec. 18, deputies said. Carroll was released with a court appearance ticket.

Red Hook

• Drugs: Nicholas Ellingsen, 33 of Tivoli, was arrested by Red Hook police at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeano­r, according to the Red Hook Police Department. He was released with a court appearance ticket.
