Contest: Local youth level event presented by the Knights of Columbus Council 275 Kingston Assembly. To be held 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Ulster CYO gym on Adams Street, Kingston. Age group winners advance to compete Jan. 15 at St. Martin de Porres School in Poughkeeps­ie. Top overall boy and girl winner each receive a basketball.

Youth Leagues Kingston Recreation Youth 14-18 Program: Final registrati­on will be accepted at the Parks and Recreation Department’s office in the Andy Murphy (Midtown) Neighborho­od Center, 467 Broadway or online at www.kingstonpa­rksandrec.org until Jan. 5. The program is for boys and girls who are currently in high school, but do not play on a freshman, junior varsity or varsity teams. Eligible players must turn ager 14 and cannot be older than 18 by Jan. 1, 2018. Games will be played Sunday afternoons at the Murphy Center. League play begins Jan. 21. Cost is $45 for City of Kingston residents, $65 for non-residents. Payment is required at registrati­on via credit card online or by cash, check, money order or credit card in person. Kingston Recreation Coed 5-7 Basketball Clinic:

Five-week program for ages 5-7 4-5 p.m. Wednesdays Jan. 31-Feb. 28 at the Andy Murphy (Midtown) Neighborho­od Center, 467 Broadway in Kingston. Program consists of various drills to strengthen passing, dribbling, shooting and defensive capabiliti­es. Participan­ts will also learn sportsmans­hip and teamwork. Cost is $20 for City of Kingston residents, $25 for non-residents.
