Holiday Fund raises more than $9,300
KINGSTON » The Freeman’s 2017 Holiday Fund campaign has wrapped up with $9,352 in donations.
The 2016 campaign raised $10,230. The fund was launched in 1977 and now has brought in $568,582.
Donations to the just-completed 41st annual campaign will be distributed to the fund’s primary beneficiaries: The People’s Place of Kingston, Family, and the Community Action Agency programs in Ulster, Dutchess and Greene counties.
“The Freeman very much appreciates the generosity of our readers toward those in our community who are less fortunate,” said Managing Editor Tony Adamis.
Although the annual fundraising drive runs from Thanksgiving to Christmas, contributions are accepted year-round by mail — at Holiday
Fund, Daily Freeman, 79 Hurley Ave., Kingston, N.Y. 12401 — or in person at the Freeman office.
All of the donated money goes to the charities. Administrative fees are paid by the Freeman.
