KINGSTON » Deborah Ann “Debi’’ Payne, passed away Nov. 18, 2017. She was born in Kingston, N.Y., to Carl Edward Modjeska and the late Donna Mildred (Smith) Modjeska. Debi married Timothy L. “Jay” Payne, Jr., on Jan. 13, 2007, in San Diego, Calif.

She was a graduate of Onteora High School in 1977 and later the Culinary Institute of America on Jan. 21, 2007, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. Debi worked for many years as a server at Reginato’s Ristorante in Lake Katrine, N.Y. She was a lover of gardening, rock collecting, being a chef, reading, and living a Christian fundamenta­l of life.

Debi is survived by her husband, Timothy L. “Jay” Payne, Jr.; her sons, Spencer Andrew Payne, and Gabriel Ashton Payne; her siblings, Justin Kern, Cynde Modjeska, Carla Monteleone, Karen Alessandro; her niece, Nicole Foti; and her nephews, Tucker Foti and J.C. Alessandro.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave, Kingston, N.Y., 12401, where family and friends may visit on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with the memorial service starting at 12 p.m.
