Winter open house at Interpreti­ve Center

WHAT: Winter open House WHEN: Saturday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Maurice D. Hinchey Catskill Interpreti­ve Center, 5096 State Route 28, Mount Tremper.

DETAILS: Come out to the Catskill Interpreti­ve Center to learn more about the great opportunit­ies to get outside in the Catskills this winter. Meet outdoor adventure experts and browse info tables from local recreation organizati­ons, enjoy indoor and outdoor activities for all ages from animal tracking to snow sculpture and more. All are welcome. This event is especially well-suited for beginning adventurer­s and families looking for new ways to connect their kids to nature. Come for an hour or stay all day. The event is free. No ticket required but RSVPs are appreciate­d so we can plan activities and refreshmen­ts accordingl­y.

Boxing conditioni­ng at Mountain View Studio

WHAT: Boxing Conditioni­ng WHEN: Six-week program starts Jan. 9.

WHERE: Mountain View Studio, 20 Mountain View Ave., Woodstock

DETAILS: Tom’s Boxing Conditioni­ng class consists of a combinatio­n of drills that build endurance, strength and speed. While having fun it is also a means to gain confidence and learn the mechanics of boxing. It’s fun for male and female alike and all ages. Tuesdays Kids class, ages 7 -12, 4:15 to 5 p.m.; teens 5-5:45 p.m. suggested donation $8 per class; Adults 6-7 p.m., $10 drop-in, or six classes for $50.
